we speak behind me, and it is expected to wrap up relatively soon. officer forced taylor is the first member of the department to die in the -- officer forced taylor -- forrest taylor is the -- he always put his life on the line to keep the streets safe. >> baltimore is a safer city because of his work. >> 44-year-old officer forrest taylor died from injuries he suffered back in february. >> he never recovered from the accident and went through a series of medical procedures, surgeries, and he passed in august. he is the first officer this year that has died in the line of duty. >> besides being an ordained minister, officer taylor was the member of the archangels

motorcycle riders club. the cathedral of mary are queens in -- mary queen in baltimore. he was a husband and father of a 7-year-old sun and 5-year-old daughter who made their way to the church on this somber day. >> the unexpected nature of this with the accident, him never recovering, has been very difficult for them. it has been difficult for us internally in the department, but for the family it is a tremendous, tremendous loss. >> officer taylor was admired by many of his colleagues, known for taking on tough assignments and mentoring his zero younger officers. >> he is a testament and example of what it takes to have a dedicated career -- 17 years, doing all those difficult assignments. he is the example of commitment. >> once the service is wrap up here, taylor's funeral procession will go to his final

resting place, his hometown. >> thank you. meantime, messages of condolence from all walks of life continue to pour in, expressing grief over the passing of former ravens owner art modell. he will be forever love as the man who brought football back to baltimore. to the greater football community, the 87-year-old former television producer and at executive was a pioneer. to the cultural community, along with his wife patricia he will be remembered as a fun patron of the arts, so much so that the mere opera house was dedicated in their honor. >> they did things with sincerity. they did not want the acknowledgement. they wanted to see people better off and were concerned about their welfare and well-being. they wanted to do things to help other people. you cannot have a better legacy.

two people are in custody today after a police pursuit track exclusively by skype team 11. howard county police tell us that they were serving a warrant on a drug investigation at a hotel at washington boulevard and laurel when two subsets -- when two suspects drove off. they fled and ended on -- investigators say uncover drugs and guns at the hotel room and the vehicle. maryland state police-cam videos shows how dangerous highway can become when forests fail -- when motorists fail to observe the move-over law. >> this man is lucky. he is about to get off with a warning after racing down i-70 at 80 miles per hour. as these officers work to protect the road, they are not always lucky.

this stop on june 14 started the same way but ended in a horrific accidents. a tractor-trailer driving too close to the shoulder slammed the police car and hit the state trooper. >> i guess i heard the rumble strip, just before the vehicle came across or came towards me, i took a quick glance over my shoulder. >> he made it to the railing before collapsing. >> i have been hit by a car. >> since then he has been taking physical therapy for injuries to his shoulder, back, and leg. he also has post-concussion syndrome. might hurt his eyes and he cannot balance. >> i see the light at the end of the tunnel, but i am able to walk, doing a lot of physical therapy to get back. >> the driver who hit him broke the move dashed over law, there

something isolated could crop up. nothing on the radar now. to the west, some storm activity up in the great lakes. that will continue coming this way. it is not a today thing, it is a tomorrow thing. let's look at the current temperatures to give you an idea of what is going on. as far as conditions are concerned, 83 degrees in annapolis right now. 84 at easton. 79 degrees at ocean city. part 10, 82. 84 degrees at edgewood. the temperature 75 degrees in western maryland. let's take a look at the current satellite picture. clear skies, nothing to generate rain right now. we can take a look at the cloud activity in the mountains of southwest pennsylvania, but all the stormy activity is way up in the great lakes. a couple of fronts. one kind of a stalled-out, dying

from. this is active. this is a cold front that will generate some stormy weather. speaking of stormy weather, at the pacific ocean -- listen to me -- in the gulf of mexico, a piece of what was isaac is in the central gulf. forecasters are watching to see if it will redevelop into a tropical depression or storm, but nothing is happening now. we also have lesley, still stalled in the atlantic. eventually supposed to drift north where bermuda is threatened. and michael, still a hurricane, out in the middle of the atlantic as well. here is our forecast locally. on the unit side, 87-92, the high. lots of sunshine, and maybe an isolated stormed could crop up. south wind from 5 to 10 miles per hour. the futurecast -- we see by saturday afternoon, 2:00, there is that front back in wisconsin.

it is coming in, so we will pick up clouds saturday afternoon, saturday evening. by sunday, we start to dry out and take the temperatures down. highs today up around 90 degrees, a little on the him inside. tomorrow, before the front comes in, temperatures up into the 80's. into the west, western maryland, the front comes through about 7:00, 8:00 in the evening, humidity drops dramatically. when we bounce back, we will be in the 70's for several days for a high. 90 today, 86 saturday. by sunday, breezy and cooler, only around 80 for a high. then highs in the 80's, lows in the 50's. >> in today's medical alert, more americans are getting their

blood tested for high cholesterol, but the cdc says the country needs to do better. officials say the high cholesterol awareness increased from 2005 to 2009, but 41 states fell short of the cdc possible. the center won it 83% of the population to be screened during that time period. people with lower levels of education, and as between the ages of 18 and 44. the dangers of heart disease is the number one killer in america. one in four women will die from it. many women just are not aware of their heart health. that can put them at higher risk for disease. >> no doubt the fight against breast cancer is an important one, but what kills more women -- heart attacks or breast cancer? >> breast cancer. >> that is a common misconception. heart disease kills 10 times the number of women every year than

breast cancer. how about this one? are the sentence for a heart attack the same for men and women? >> i do not believe so. >> that is right. women are more likely to have symptoms like slight pressure, not russia, or severe fatigue. -- nausea, or severe fatigue. who is more likely to survive, a man or a woman? >> a woman. >> that is wrong. women have a lower chance of surviving a heart attack. many believe that is partly because women are less likely to recognize their symptoms and get help quickly. what is the number-one thing a woman can do to reduce her risk of having a heart attack? >> exercise? >> that is a good answer. there are lots of import risk factors we have control of, like blood pressure, all cholesterol, and wait. the best answer is not smoking. if you smoke, a woman's chance of having a heart attack is doubled.
